A subject or an object in a sentence can be either a pronoun (e.g., I, they, him) or a noun phrase (e.g., the grand piano, a talented musician). The subject typically performs the action, while the object receives the action.

Examples:

  1. Pronoun as Subject & Object:
    • She (subject) invited him (object) to the party.
  2. Noun Phrase as Subject & Object:
    • The brilliant scientist (subject) discovered a groundbreaking theory (object).
  3. Mixed Usage (Pronoun & Noun Phrase):
    • They (subject) renovated the old library (object).
